Welcome

If you are reading my profile you may have reached a point where you are experiencing personal problems, or difficulties, that you feel unable to tackle on your own, or simply need help taking the next steps on life's complex journey.

I am a mindfulness based therapist. Helping you to become more self-aware of your physical, emotional and mental states. As your understanding of ‘who you are’ develops, you become more able to ‘see’ yourselves and others with honesty and compassion, which is central to genuine life change.

We all experience difficult times, pain and distress, it is part of the human condition. On top of this, modern life is generally high speed and stressful. The most natural response to life’s traumas is ‘fight or flight’. We either prepare to ‘fight’ (stress, tension, anxiety, isolation etc.) or run to distraction (food, drugs, work, alcohol, self harm, etc.). When the roots of trauma are not dealt with, these ‘response mechanisms’ turn into habitual patterns, which impacts upon our day to day lives, and upon our relationships with others.

Once you start to understand your mind, and your patterns of re-action, you create more space and opportunities to free yourself from mental states that limit your ability to be your true self. It is a journey of self discovery. Sometimes we need an ‘other’ to share that journey and to witness the process. It would be an honour to join you on the next steps of your journey.

How I work

I work with a basis of transparency, honesty and integrity. I also draw upon a number of other teachings, including: person centered, transpersonal psychology, Buddhist psychotherapy and life coaching skills.

I spend a lot of time out of the country, and therefore work mainly by phone and video conferencing (ie. Skype/Google Duo or other). An initial phone consultation (10-15 minutes), to see if we can work together, is free, after that sessions are £36 (1 hour). Block sessions can be booked at £162 for 5 sessions (£18 discount).

When it can be arranged, for people local, I also offer ‘Walk and Talk’ therapy. Meeting outside in nature for the session. Usually this will be after at least one traditional session, face to face or via video conferencing. (Walk and Talk therapy may include a small surcharge for travel expenses depending on the location).

Prices can be converted for other currencies, concessions are offered for students, unemployed and OAP’s.
